WEEKLY REFLECTION 4

 25/07/2022-29/07/2022

As usual i reached the school at 9.00 am on this entire week. This was our fourth week of teaching practice. I got many new and memorable experiences from these three past weeks. I loves teaching more and more each day. Due  to covid issues the first phase of teaching practice does not gave us more about classroom management and students behaviour management. But this second phase gave us a lot to study from the school.

25/07/2022 Monday- On this day I had class on 9th standard. So I prepared to take the topic food through stomach. the class starts at the correct time. The necessary teaching aids were already prepared. ICT was used. So pupil got more interested in the class. Group activities given to students makes more interactions among them. During these days I was able to properly manage time and classroom.

26/07/2022 Tuesday-  on this day i had class on 8th standard so i took the topic plant tissues. the charts and other aids are used such as ICT. Appropriate introduction was given to the topic. ICT enhances students interest. We also went for observing peer classes.

27/07/2022 Wednesday- on this day i had a class on 9th standard and took the topic food in the small intestine. The lesson plan and all the teaching aids was previously prepared. Then a still model showing about liver pancreas are shown in the class. Group discussion was given . Proper reinforcement was given at proper times. Also i conducted a pre test based on my project on 8th A(control group) and 8th A1(experimental group) classes.

29/07/2022 Friday-on this day i had class on 8th standard and i also got a substitution class. so i took "organ and organ system" and integrated pest management. Then i conducted a diagnostic test on 8th standard. For taking the classes i used ICT, charts and activity cards. All the teaching aids used are appropriate. The class was effective.  A 45 minutes diagnostic test was also conducted.

on this week the school arranges a class on "Adolescent issues" in connection with the district childline centre. The district childline coordinator took the class. It was very effective and is very much necessary. We also made arrangements for these class. All these programs gave many experiences to us. 

As usual we interacted with teachers and staffs and observed the schools working. After the national anthem we left the school at 4 pm.

WEEKLY REFLECTION 3

 18/07/2022- 22/07/2022

 This was the third week of our second phase teaching internship.

As usual I reached the school at 9.00 am itself throughout this week. Mondays and Thursdays have General assembly for students. Due to heavy rain there is no general assembly. So went for the morning prayer. And then signed the attendance register. Also we interacted with the teachers and other staffs. At the lunch time we went for serving lunch to students. 

18/7/2022 Monday- As per the time table i have no classes. So i prepared  lesson transcripts for the coming classes and also planned the activities for students. I also made necessary planning for taking the coming classes. And  after lunch, went for observing the schools labs and library.

19/7/2022 Tuesday- on this day i had a class on 8th standard. And i also got a substitution period on 8th standard. So i started the next unit "Cell clusters" and took the topic Tissues. On the substitution period i took the portion prokaryotes and eukaryotes. ICT was used for taking both the classes. All the necessary charts are prepared and activity cards are also used . Active student participation was ensured by giving various activities.

21/07/2022 Thursday- on this day i had a class on 9th standard. So i planned to take the topic Human digestive system from the unit " Food through digestive tract". And also i got a free period on this class . so i took the topic " teeth" ICT was used for taking both the classes. A still model of human digestive system is also prepared for the topic digestive system. Group activity for students were also given. 

22/07/2022 Friday- as per the time table i have classes on 8th and 9th classes.  In 8th class i took the topic Animal tissues and ICT was used. Appropriate activity for students was also given. class become more interesting to the students since ICT was used. on 9th B class i took the topic Food through oesophagus. here also ICT was used. Power point presentation showing about the mode of swallowing of food and peristalsis was used. A video showing about the food through oesophagus was also shown. activities for students were also given.

On Thursday our optional teacher Anisha miss observed my class and her comments was satisfying. 

On Friday a quiz was conducted on the basis of Moon day celebration. As usual we got many time to interact with our teachers and other staffs. At 4 pm after the national anthem we left the school.

WEEKLY REFLECTION 2

11/07/2022-15/07/2022

This was the second week of our second phase teaching internship.

As usual I reached the school at 9.00 am itself throughout this week. Mondays and Thursdays have General assembly for students. We made all the necessary arrangements for the morning assembly. We made students prepared for prayer, mews reading, quotes of the day, quiz etc. Also went to Sindhu miss for signing my lesson transcripts and teaching aids. Sindhu miss also observed classes and give some suggestions. On each day we went for serving the lunch for students. The school conducts quiz on every special days.

11/07/2022 Monday- On this day i had a substitution period on 9B so i took the topic "After photosynthesis". All the teaching aids for taking the class was prepared in advance along with the lesson transcript. Active participation of students was ensured by various activities. More confidence was there in each class as days pass.

12/7/2022Tuesday- on this day I had a class on 8A1 and I took the topic " Nucleus". The class was taken according to the lesson plan. A still model of nucleus was prepared for the class. ICT was also used. Active teacher pupil interaction was maintained throughout the class.

13/7/2022 Wednesday- on this day I had no classes. So I spend time for making teaching aids and for preparing lesson plans. All the lesson plan and teaching aids was signed by our subject teacher.

14/7/2022 Thursday - on this day i took the topic " ocean as an ecosystem" on 9B. All the necessary planning for taking the class was done. ICT was used . Better student interaction was also there. Activities for students makes them engaged in the classroom.

15/7/2022 Friday- On this day classes on 8 and 9th standards. So i took the topic "Animal cell and plastids" for class 8th and and planned a test paper on 9 B. For taking animal cell i prepared a still model of animal cell and ICT was used for plastids. Activity cards are also used for students activity.

We got many time to interact with the school teachers other staffs and with the school councilor. As days pass  many information regarding the working of school was understood. As usual we left the school after the national anthem. 

SECOND PHASE OF SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM.05/07/2022- 08/07/2022

 The second phase of teaching internship starts on 5/7/2022 Tuesday onwards and our school is Adichanalloor Panchayat Higher secondary school. I reached the school at 9.15 am. The headmistress in-charge Mrs. Sindhu miss gave us permission and introduced us to the teachers. Then we talked to our subject teachers. On this week I had classes on both 8th and 9th standards. 

On 5/7/2022 Tuesday I had class on 8th A1 class and I took the topic  "Microscope" from the unit 'Life's mysteries in little chambers'. For taking the class I used the Microscope from the science lab. All the teaching aids used are appropriate and the students were very active. I felt a little uncomfort  since the students behaviour was uncontrolled. Then during the lunch time we went for serving the food for students. During the free time we went to observe the school premises and interacted with the teachers.

On 6/7/2022 Wednesday  I got a substitution period on 9 B and I took the topic Pigments in Leaves. For taking the class I prepared a still model of Chloroplast. All the teaching aids was also prepared in advance. The class was effective. For 8A1 I took the topic "discovery of cell and cell theory". Appropriate activities for students were also given. Students active participation makes the class very effective. After lunch, at 2 pm the school's clubs was inaugurated by Mr.Rajan Cosmic Sir and Dr Lakshmi Ma'am. We made all the necessary arrangements for the program. 

On 7/7/2022 Thursday I have a class on 9 B and I took the topic "Chemistry of photosynthesis". The class was taken according to the lesson transcript. Proper student participation was ensured and thereby the class was made effective. I got more confidence for taking classes on 9 B as days pass. ICT was also used and it enhances students interests. 

On 8/7/2022 Friday I had classes on 8A1 and 9B. For 8th I took the topic " plant cell" and for 9th I conducted a test paper. All the teaching aids used are appropriate. ICT was used. Still model of plant cell was also prepared. Active [participation of students was ensured by giving activities.

Everyday on this week, we went for serving the lunch for students. During the free time we spent time to interact with teachers and students. I got more awareness about the personal and family situations of some students. All these were  very useful experiences for me as a teacher.
